About Rebecca

Rebecca is a teacher through and through and teaching is what she loves to do. She now specialises in teaching WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines. She established her unique, bespoke approach to WSET teaching at Berry Bros. & Rudd where she worked as Head of Wine School, Tastings, Dinner and Food and Wine Matching Events for 20 years. WSET® Level 1-3 Award in Wines. TheRLWS runs WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines publicly in SW1 London for wine lovers who are passionate to learn more and challenge themselves...

Rebecca also created the seminal course ‘Exploring and Tasting Wine’ (published by BBR Press) whilst she was Head of Wine School at Berry Bros & Rudd for 20 years and devised tasting experiences that are still fully embraced today such as An Introduction to Burgundy, An Introduction to Bordeaux, An Introduction to Champagne as well as very special food and wine events. Before that she taught the 'Cello for a number of years, many of them spent in Bermuda, where she was Head of Music at Warwick Academy.

What, you may ask, do wine and music have in common? The capacity to afford boundless pleasure, for sure, allied to the fact that there is so much to learn (and enjoy) in their mastery. The challenge is there and can be tailored to individual needs over a series of levels. The common thread though it all is the pleasure of learning, the shared experience, shared laughter and shared passion.  It is in this sharing where Rebecca is in her element; laughter and wine are perfect partners; the joy of the experience is the key to the experience, and best enjoyed with a smile!

"Under a different course provider, I had failed the WSET 3 and I was nervous to go for this a second time. My friend, an RLWS alumni, recommended contacting Rebecca.

The language and answer structure WSET asks with the open questions is quite confusing, not to mention the volume to learn next to a demanding job – the contrast between my former course provider and Rebecca could not have been more extreme. Rebecca is super approachable, positive, thorough and guides the team the whole way through in a relaxed manner.

The dynamics of being able to discuss the syllabus and how best to approach the questions in a succinct way, meant that the material sunk in far better…in fact, so much so that I passed with distinction.

I’m convinced there is no better tutor for the WSET III than Rebecca, and her way of bringing people together is such an added value. Thank you Rebecca!"

"I especially sought Rebecca out for my L3 studies because I wanted to embark on the course with someone who is genuinely passionate about wine and its nuances. I couldn’t have made a better choice!

Rebecca imparts such contagious enthusiasm and wonder for her subject that the Saturday classes were my weekly highlight throughout the course!

That she is an amazing teacher goes without saying - and, in the end, I wanted to do well not only for my own sake, but also to do her proud.

Most importantly, what stays with you after the course is a heartfelt interest in wine, fuelled by and maintained through lasting connections with like-minded wine enthusiasts.

Best choice I’ve made this year, could not recommend more!"
